'BIG BOSS'

...a story of every professional in search of an eternal 'BOSS'... (a 205-page odyssey)
"Morning happens, evening goes, and the night sets in---Saga flares the hope of another day’s rings"
‘BIG BOSS’ is a scoop about a fervent professional who joins many firms in anticipation of getting a conducive work environment and an ideal ‘Boss’ in each. Each time as he finds his dreams not being realized, he leaves that firm and joins another to experience similar events in the new firm as well. The protagonist, Adi, is a dreamer and a perfect idealist who always works in the firm’s interest, but very often is let down by his bosses in one way or the other. He always tries to explain to his bosses about his virtuous intentions towards the firm and them, but each time they ditch him. At last, he learns through these experiences that he can’t change the creature called ‘Boss’, but has to usher a change by being the part of the firm within his own circle of influence. Foreword & Analytical views for the book have been provided by Mr. Joginder Singh, Ex-CBI Director, Member (Hony.) EC, Interpol, France as he says: “…If I had to describe the essence of this book in one word - it would be ‘Co-existence’…” “…Discussion about bosses is at the core of everyone’s heart. In a day, we spend most of the productive time at our workplace, and that too communicating with our colleagues. Bosses form a significant part of the fraternity and have the largest impact on our professional and personal well-being…” “…When I read ‘BIG BOSS’, I felt the same and was able to relate with my professional journey. It’s an event-packed corporate drama. MVP has done justice to the subject by detailing the insights into the attitudinal and behavioral characteristics of the corporate bosses. It shells out the pearls of wisdom in between the narrated instances…” “…The book has a potential of contributing towards case studies for the Business schools and HR function of the firms…” The book AIMS to make the professionals realize the need to co-exist alongwith the other members of the professional ecosystem. The advent of globalization mandates us to be more resilient and avoid vindication so as to make the workplace worth sustaining. SCOPE includes the description of the disastrous ramification for not seeking ‘live and let live’ framework. The impact is vast on almost all the stakeholders of the firm’s ecology allowing the embankment on the greener pastures guaranteeing success for all. FEATURES of the book include the close to real-life scenarios being presented--the protagonist being almost akin to a real-life professional. The book is not limited to an industry, firm or a specific group of people as readers, but all the small and large firms who have the creature called ‘Boss’. It has a total discourse of all that goes into a subordinate’s mind while dealing with the ‘Bosses’. It also contains the situations and scenarios based on which the superior-subordinate relationship blooms and dooms. With almost no formal ‘Teaching’ being part of the book, it flows like a story providing interesting insight into some of the muses on the organizational workings.
Reader's View

“...there is perhaps no such thing as a perfect job, least of all, the perfect boss. The hunt can be long and elusive. Many pursue it to ridiculous levels, thinking they would get it right just this one more time…and so continue their elusive search. The more courageous among us leave everything and try their hand at their own stuff. MVP’s book aptly sums up the dilemma of our times. The rat race doesn’t seems to lead the protagonist anywhere. The question is to accept or fight. The key is perhaps to decide for yourself—what’s best for you…” - Shekhar Nambiar, Public Affairs and Media, Australian High Commission

“... an excellent, crisp and concise description of events cooking up a storm in every organization ... A must read for every corporate professional …” -Avinash Raghava, Regional Director, NASSCOM

"... this is an impressive cocktail of an emotive Non-Influencer, who has matured and morphed from a recalcitrant individual to a Goal Seeking Employee Contributor. One can glide the pages as the protagonist educates himself on the Potent 'Boss-Subordinate' Relationship, and the quest of any employee, seeking Redemption. It's a Must Read and a Shelf Holder for all, who see this equation at their functional workplace, home or school …" -Sameer Mathur, Vice President, Digital Media, Bharti Airtel

"... it is a commendable effort to text subordinate's thoughts onto a book. 'Big Boss', I hope will be quite beneficial to HR professionals who may like to train and educate the Bosses to be human beings first and bosses later …" -Dr. Asheesh K. Ganju, Director (R&D), Raymond Limited

"... this book is a revelation and talks about the ultimate reality of the employer-employee relation in the current corporate world scenario. Adi represents every single employee who wants to make a big impact in the corporate world. The hard reality is - Employees are there to answer their bosses not to question them. In Rome, be like a roman. It's a must read for all high-talented individuals who really think big ..." -Kripa Narain Tiwari, Country Account Manager, DHL Express

Exclusive material, thank you to the writer. It is actually incomprehensible in my opinion at present, however in common, the usefulness and importance is mind-boggling. With thanks and all the best...

The book is just what I

The book is just what I wanted to read since long time. We are fed up of ordinary fictional novels in the market and would like to have more of it from MVP. Thanks for being the leader in it.

it is a must read for the

it is a must read for the young professionals, passing or passed out students of any college. I wished this book had been there during my times—I wouldn’t have faced so much of the problems due to the bosses. One of them even used slangs and foul language to get the work done. Kudos to you MVP for bringing up the subject.

Points brought up by you are

Points brought up by you are only debated close doors, and never go out of the meeting rooms and canteen. We all face the same situations almost on daily basis in our firms, yet fear not to disclose or discuss the details. HR is just a mute spectator with no clout over whatsoever over the Boss’s wrongdoings and activities. It’s time to change.
Awaiting yur book with all the eagerness

Thank you a lot for giving

Thank you a lot for giving everyone an exceptionally splendid opportunity to read in detail from this blog. It is usually so lovely and jam-packed with a lot of fun for me and my office peers to visit the blog a minimum of three times weekly to study the newest guidance you have got. Of course, I am just actually happy for the magnificent principles you give. Certain 3 ideas in this posting are undeniably the most impressive I have had.

I agree on most of the issues

I agree on most of the issues raised by MVP in Big Boss. I can sense it happening all over the place in almost every organization—be it private or government. Bosses have their own mindset and they do not want to buzz from them, howsoever detrimental it can be for their subordinates. They extract joy out of other person’s sorrows and would like to grow professionally stepping on some one else’s shoes.
I was hoping you to take up issues like molestation and credit loot in this book. Nevertheless, an excellent read and an enjoyable break from the monotony. Sridhar was too much in LettSym.

Boss, having read the entire

Boss, having read the entire book in 2 days and 1 night, I can tell you that the book is a killer. A Killer in its own sense. I started off with the Blurb on the cover page and ended up with the Chankya’s quote on the back page with only 4 hours of sleep in between. I have never read content of this type since eternity.
Great guns MVP—pls give us more of this kind.

I believe this internet

I believe this internet site has some real wonderful information for everyone : D.

I like the quote by MVP in

I like the quote by MVP in the LettSym where he says—‘A boss and subordinate aren’t competitors, but co-athletes of a marathon running towards the same rope’
Whatever stated and intended in the book has substance and must be followed b each one of us—be it any profession.
Great thought which I am going to follow and make my Boss follow it too.

Have read NewsNxt and

Have read NewsNxt and Clearword, LettsSym—found them exciting and encouraging enough to let me read the next chapters.
NewsNxt was a nice depiction of the dilemma of a fresher in any organization that is supplemented by the weak policies and moreover no implementation of them. Tanay is one such kind as he neither has any laid down policies, nor he has any serious intentions of following them up
..

The book is just close to

The book is just close to real life scenarios. Very close…I can relate myself with Adi’s experience in Razor Brain. My boss was also of this kind with no communication, no interaction with his team mates. Though he is a Vice-President now, he is not even considered for discussion amongst the firm’s alumni.

Big Boss is not a book, it’s

Big Boss is not a book, it’s a DYNAMITE. Dynamite of all sorts—analysis, content, assumptions, events, conclusion—if you don’t read it, you are going to miss the much required explosion.
Especially the initial paragraphs of every chapter provides the readers with so much of food for thought to chew on, the subsequent content acts like digestives. The quotes at the start are the appetizers.

Enjoy the feast!!!!!!!!!

There are books in the market

There are books in the market which try to beat around the bush and depend more on the saleable content for the people to like. There are very few authors who write something original not caring much about the commercial aspects of the content. I found MVP as a part of those genres of the authors, rather I would say leading the band at this point of time.

Great book...astonishing topic...mind boggling content

I was strolling around a

I was strolling around a market when I saw ‘Big Boss’ calling me from a book shop. Earlier I thought that it is a print version of the reality show, Big Boss. I went in and in hope of reading the unheard events of the show, picked up the book for purchase. The counter man was aware of the reason I had picked up the book. He told me that it was not based on the show, but is not less from that either.
The moment I saw the cover page, I decided to buy it and today when I have read it entirely, I don’t repent the decision of buying it.
A real, real gem in the making. The book and the author both....

got your book just now

got your book just now couriered at my address....would start reading now...wait for the comments

How can one present

How can one present situations and events in words that u can feel being a part of your own life? Here it is – Big Boss—a marvel. I never missed a single letter that I couldn’t feel going along with me as I read. You are geinus MVP
-Guroo, Sahibabad

First of all, let me

First of all, let me congratulate you on the book. The subject is too much engrossing that I have started relating the events of the book with my professional pursuits. Office mein hamesha main relate karti rehti hoon Big Boss ke bosses se.
At one point in time, I went to my boss and suggested him to go thru the last chapter of the book—I thought he will amend his ways. Let’s hope for the best.

Well, MVP I was in India on a

Well, MVP I was in India on a trip and one of my Indian friend suggested this book to read while I travel back to paris. Really a great book it is. You have great writing ability, with a power to link the events meaningfully. But more important is the idea of writing about Bosses. I will definitely meet you when I come next to India. Bye.
-Alex martin

MVP dear, Best gift for any

MVP dear, Best gift for any boss at his birthday- dis book. It should go till Bosses exist and will guide them throuhh the entire concept of coexistence. I have gioven it 2 one of my bosses, waiting the repercussions of it. if –ve, I will consult you what to do? Pls share your cell ono.

There have been very less

There have been very less books on Bosses, few films on the same as well, bi=ut the kind of clarity BIG BOSS carries is tremendous. I enjoyed each and every bit of it and have read it twice to get the real flavor of it.
-Ramakrisha, Chennai

I am reading your book still

I am reading your book still while in train, but can’t stop myself from appreciating the first three chapters of the book. It’s a great story, especially I like the characterpf Mr and Mrs. Mohan to start with—obviously bosses fall in line too…after that
Jasmine, Rajdhani exp.

I think everyone who has read

I think everyone who has read this book will agree that this book should be given a status of being “THE RED BOOK” for bosses and should be gifted to bad bosses by their suffering subordinates. This book will act as a mirror and will give an opportunity to improve as a “BOSS”.

Hi MVP, Thanks for providing

Hi MVP, Thanks for providing us with a ‘Reality’ reading than just Reality shows we were sick of watching.
