Relationships - 'Prey' >< 'Pray'

Another day, another morning, another fixture, more wants, needs and desires! Here are we in with folded hands in front of the conglomerate of the Top managers of Life, Inc. We need to swipe the card to let them know we are present. Incense sticks start smoking, bells hound other sleepers at the home, and we in anticipation of getting heard initiate the dialogue with ‘HIM’. -Please help me in clearing the interview today! -Please do something that he/she accepts my proposal! -Please do something that the sales reach a record high! -Please descend at 1000 am in the examination hall to help me with the Maths questions! -Please, please, please and please… We pray for the prey… Have we ever got what we desired just by asking for it? Or doing a thing about it? It’s hard to tell, but important to separate the two in the pursuit to attain a perfect equilibrium in our daily life. Should we ‘Pray’ to ‘Prey’ or ‘Prey’ to ‘Pray’? What ‘HE’ prefers? What is ‘HIS’ vision of your Life, Inc.? What are the values which drive it? What mission is ‘HE’ on to? ‘Pray’ to ‘Prey’ relationship: This relationship starts with the end in mind and a presumption that the means will take care of themselves. We become too much focused on ‘HIS’ performance against the target set by us. We forget about our obligations and try placing them on to ‘HIM’. Did ‘HE’ took it ever? For some, Yes! But what for the rest of us? We habituate ourselves with looking vertically up at the drop of handkerchief, than looking horizontally at the goal of producing them. When the prayers fail to produce the desired results, we again reach the Board Room to complain, whine, cry and wail. And 'HE' says that I have too much to do in meeting expectations of the entire workforce. It might take some more time or ‘HE’ may not be able to do it. ‘HE’ also proposes a way to have oneself manage oneself than ‘HE’ managing the entire volume of signatures. Do we ever follow what ‘HE’ says or still blame ‘HIM’ with the threatening to resign? ‘Prey’ to ‘Pray’ relationship: This relationship goes merry with ‘HIM’ because it takes a load of ‘HIM’ with each one managing oneself. It starts with assisting ‘HIM’ with his tasks by committing to one’s laid down ones and reaching ‘HIM’ only in case of exigencies. It makes yours a different case altogether; you become a part of ‘HIS’ never-to-fade memory for ‘HIM’ to assist you voluntarily and unsolicitedly. ‘HE’ places you on a higher and different pedestal for the rest of the employees to emulate. ‘HE’ rewards you with what you have never even imagined in your dreams. Don’t we love to be pleasantly surprised? Don’t we want others to be in ‘Prey’ to ‘Pray’ relationship with us?
